Job summary

Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join the Specialised Stroke and Neuro Team at St Margaret's Hospital. The role supports Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy for stroke/neurological patients, on ward or in the Early Stroke Discharge service at patients’ homes across West Essex.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience of working in a healthcare setting as an assistant is required.
• Flexible approach to work, good time management and organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative in a busy environment.
• Essential to have a current driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision to support rehabilitation programmes for stroke and neuro patients.
• Assist in planning, delivery and evaluation of rehabilitation activities to meet patient needs.
• Enable patients to reach goals and independence through patient-centred programs.
• Work within therapy team competencies and directed programmes, including physical, communication, cognitive, and swallowing rehabilitation.
