Job summary

CCL is seeking a die-cut operator in Memphis, TN to operate equipment that die-cuts printed material into label stacks and band finished product to customer specifications. The role requires attention to quality and safety and the ability to read a ruler.

You will train with on-the-job programs, work 2nd shift 4:30pm-2:30am with 10% shift differential, and participate in maintaining clean work areas and following SOPs. Prior experience not required as on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read a ruler and measure to 1/32" and 1 mm.
• Read job tickets to determine setup specifications and instructions.

Job Summary:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
• Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
• Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
• Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
• Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
• General knowledge and understanding of the die cutting processes and equipment.
• Sets up die cut sections, counter-pressure unit and banding unit in accordance with proper setup techniques.
• Reads job tickets to determine set up specifications and instructions.
• Observes and monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions and to determine if adjustments are needed.
• Inspects die cut product for thorough cutting, precise and consistent print-to-cut registration and positioning.
• Follows instructions accurately.
• Maintains records of daily production using specific forms and data tracking systems.
• Trains co-workers to set-up and operate machines.
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance and troubleshooting.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.

Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.

Requires constant movement and bending.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
