Job summary

CCL Sleeve/IML is hiring for a press operator who will efficiently set up and run offset presses, following job jacket instructions to produce high-quality products. The role requires attention to run times, accurate ruler reading and adherence to safety and GMP standards.

The candidate should read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm, and cooperate with team members to meet production goals. On-the-job training is provided in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate offset press according to job jacket instructions.

Shift hours:

2nd shift - (10% shift differential on top of base pay)

Job Summary:

Responsible for set-up and operation of an offset press with the ability to produce high quality products from a basic to semi-complex layout as per job jacket instructions. Must be able to set-up and produce according to standards and pre-determined run times.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs other related duties as assigned.


• Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.


• Maintains clean work area.


• Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.


• Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.


• Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.


• Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.


• Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.


• Retrieves or receives necessary materials such as paper, inks, plates, etc. and sets up press in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements.


• Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent; seeks help as needed.


• Operates press and constantly monitors work to produce quality product that is color correct, in registration and meets customer requirements.


• Works closely with team to ensure product is proper and of a quality expected of CCL.


• Maintains work to meet schedules, ship dates, and deadlines.


• Assists in training others and works closely with all departments.


• Operates hand truck and hand tools.


• Must be able to work independently, without assistance.


• Applies mechanical ability to adjust press and to troubleshoot various problems.


• Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.

Frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 125 pounds.

Requires constant movement and bending.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
