Job summary

Merit School of Music seeks a full-time Strings & Orchestra Program Manager to act as the hub for Chicago's youth strings program. You will manage class scheduling, instrument coordination, and ongoing communication across students, teaching artists, and families.

Ensure materials, attendance, and room reservations are in place for a full season of rehearsals and performances. The role reports to the Strings & Orchestra Program Director and requires a passion for equitable access to music

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience.
• Organized and detail-oriented; systems to keep things on track.
• Strong written and verbal communication with families, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Schedule classes, rooms, and faculty teaching times.
• Maintain attendance records and coordinate with program director.
• Support summer camp scheduling and logistics.
• Communicate program details to families and faculty in a timely, professional manner.
• Assist with instrument and supplies coordination and event logistics.
