Job summary

The Merit School of Music is searching for a part-time Program Coordinator in Chicago, IL. This role involves providing vital administrative support to various programs including the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative (CMPI). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, support daily programming operations, and collaborate on events with various stakeholders.

As a central connective role, the Program Coordinator will interact with staff, students, and families across multiple locations. A Bachelor's degree or 1-3 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in the arts or nonprofit sector is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree or have 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external calendars for all stakeholders.
  • Support the Program team with administrative tasks during peak periods.
  • Coordinate logistics for student activities and external events.
  • Assist in producing monthly and weekly newsletters.
  • Maintain partnership records and rental contracts for programs.
