Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to implement and supervise exercise programs for patients at Providence Hospitals in Michigan.

You will collaborate with patients and medical professionals to tailor rehabilitation plans, perform tests, monitor responses, and provide education for patients and the community. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compassionate care across the rehabilitation team.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date.
• Must have stress testing experience in a hospital setting (internship acceptable).
• Must be able to work independently and interpret EKGs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
• Plan and teach exercise therapy using test data and patient status.
• Monitor patient responses and revise plans accordingly.
• Recognize contraindications and abnormal responses, including stopping exercise and referring to medical professionals.
• Provide exercise information to patients, peers, and the community through education classes.
• Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and reporting kept.
