Job summary

Henry Ford Health Providence Southfield Hospital in Oakland County seeks an Exercise Physiologist to implement and supervise rehabilitation exercise programs for patients, collaborating with clinicians to tailor therapy and optimize recovery.

You will conduct testing, plan and teach therapy, monitor progress, recognize contraindications, educate patients and staff, and help maintain equipment and records in a mission‑driven, hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• Stress testing experience in a hospital setting; ability to interpret EKGs.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
• Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients, using data, status and medications.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust plans as needed.
• Recognize contraindications and abnormal responses; refer as necessary.
• Educate patients, peers, and the community through public speaking and classes.
• Maintain department equipment, records and reports.
