Job summary

The City of Pearsall is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker to perform duties related to road and drainage system upkeep. Responsibilities include street sweeping, cleaning, catch basins, sign installation, and traffic control. Equipment includes various trucks and street machinery.

Qualified candidates must have a High School/GED, pass a drug screen and physical, and hold a Texas Class C Driver's License. This is a full-time on-site role with an Equal Opportunity Employer policy in effect.

Qualifications

• 1 year progressively responsible experience in streets maintenance and drainage cleaning; ability to perform labor-intensive work.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and physical.
• Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License and High School/GED with related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roads and drainage systems, including street sweeping, cleaning, and repairing catch basins; install street signs and manage traffic control.
• Operate equipment such as pickup trucks, dump trucks, street sweepers, chain saws, and brush chippers as required.

Role and Responsibilities

To perform various duties as instructed relating to the maintenance of roads and drainage systems. Work tasks include street sweeping, cleaning, and repairing catch basins, installing street signs, traffic control, tree trimming, and ditch maintenance. Equipment necessary to be operated to include said duties, including but not limited to, pickup trucks, small and large dump trucks, various street equipment, chain saws, brush chippers, and street sweeper.

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year progressively responsible experience in streets maintenance, and storm drainage cleaning, and the ability to perform labor-intensive work within difficult environmental conditions to include frequent lifting, pulling, and pushing of 50 lbs., or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Physical.
• Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
• High School/GED and any certifications related to streets
