Job summary

The City of Saint Charles is seeking a Field Maintenance Worker - Streets in the Public Works Department. The position performs skilled construction work to maintain and repair public infrastructure including roadways, storm and sanitary sewer systems, and supports snow and ice removal operations.

This non-exempt, full-time role requires inspecting and maintaining equipment, performing sign/road repairs, adhering to safety standards, and responding to emergencies and public inquiries as part of

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years' experience in general construction, maintenance and repair, or equivalent.
• Valid Missouri driver's license required.
• Valid Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsements required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and operate construction vehicles and equipment used in Public Works maintenance and snow removal operations.
• Install/replace sign posts and street signs; repair asphalt/concrete roads and sidewalks.
• Follow safety standards and participate in on-call overtime and emergency responses.
• Respond to public inquiries and complaints.
• Perform duties of Street Maintenance, Sewer Maintenance and Water Distribution Worker.
