The City of Red Bank has an immediate opening for a Streets Division Operations Supervisor. This is a full-time position that oversees and manages the daily operations of the Public Works Streets Division, ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of the City of Red Bank’s roads, infrastructure, and public facilities. This position is responsible for supervising a team of public works staff, coordinating various
maintenance projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Salary And Benefits
(G9) $63,835.00 annually - Day Shift M-F 7:00a-3:00p + excellent benefits.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of public works employees, including laborers and equipment operators, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices in street maintenance and transportation safety.
- Be available 24/7 to respond to after-hours emergencies, such as road closures, storm damage, flooding, hazardous material spills, and other transportation or infrastructure-related incidents, while effectively coordinating team efforts.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of city streets, sidewalks, bike lanes, parks, public buildings, and other critical infrastructure to improve safety and accessibility for all road users.
- Manage a city-wide street sign maintenance program, road paving, and road striping plans, ensure compliance with traffic control standards, and contribute to a well-organized and safe roadway network.
- Support the City of Red Bank’s multi-modal transportation initiatives, including sidewalk connectivity, bicycle infrastructure improvements, aligning with the city’s Safe Streets for All plan, and Vision Zero goals.
- Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor staff performance to ensure productivity, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
- Review and approve work orders, timesheets, overtime requests, and material requisitions, ensuring fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers of other divisions within the Public Works Department for additional labor when necessary to maintain safe, effective daily operations (Solid Waste, Storm Water, Parks, Facilities)
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards, environmental policies, and permitting requirements.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of relevant City Ordinances and Codes and ensure adherence in all public works operations.
- Submit comprehensive monthly and annual reports to the Public Works Department Head detailing work progress, completed projects, and future needs.
- Utilize the city’s work management program (iWorQ) to process and track work orders efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, materials used and complete projects for accountability and future planning.
- Engage with residents and business owners to address concerns, inquiries, and service requests related to the daily operations of the Streets Division.
- Oversee procurement of necessary supplies and materials in accordance with the City of Red Bank Purchase Policies to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Analyze annual operating costs and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize resources and improve efficiency within the division.
- Collaborate with the Department Head in preparing the annual budget, ensuring proper allocation of funds and adherence to approved budgetary guidelines.
- Manage contracts related to Streets Division projects, ensuring vendors meet performance standards, deadlines, and budget requirements.
- Ensure all public works projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other city departments, contractors, and vendors on large-scale infrastructure projects to enhance connectivity and traffic safety.
- Oversee the proper operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of public works equipment and machinery to maximize efficiency and longevity.
- Foster a culture of workplace safety by implementing best practices, enforcing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with all occupational safety regulations.
- Provide continuous training and professional development opportunities to staff, ensuring they maintain the necessary skills, certifications, and industry knowledge.
- Any other duty as assigned.

- Strong analytical skills for problem-solving, decision-making, and implementing effective strategies. Proficiency in essential computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, work order systems) and specialized equipment management software.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in operations.

Education Requirements
- High school education or GED
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in public works, construction management, or related field preferred.
