Job summary

ISA Certified Arborist is seeking a Streetlight Lighting Technician A in Maxton, NC. You will perform lighting construction and maintenance on medium to large projects, read schematics, and ensure safety and quality in outdoor environments.

The role requires at least 3 years in lighting work, a CDL license, proficiency in English, and the ability to travel and lift heavy loads; overtime may be required and work occurs outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.

Description

Job Purpose:

The Lighting Technician A is an experienced lighting construction and maintenance professional responsible for safely performing, coordinating, and supporting medium to large-scale lighting construction and maintenance activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This role has no direct reports.

Essential Functions:

• Perform construction, installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance activities on lighting systems and associated equipment.
• Independently perform assigned work on medium to large lighting construction and maintenance projects.
• Apply appropriate procedures and technical knowledge to safely complete work in accordance with established standards and specifications.
• Diagnose lighting system issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and other technical documentation required to perform assigned work.
• Plan and organize work activities in a logical and methodical manner to ensure safe, efficient, and effective execution.
• Determine appropriate circuit isolation and protection requirements without compromising critical equipment or system reliability.
• Complete work on a variety of lighting equipment and systems while maintaining required quality and safety standards.
• Safely operated bucket trucks, digger derrick trucks, and other authorized aerial devices in accordance with applicable qualifications, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Inspect and properly utilize vehicles, aerial devices, tools, and equipment required to perform lighting construction and maintenance activities.
• Safely access elevated work areas and perform work at various heights.
• Frequently climb or use authorized equipment to reach required work locations.
• Does all other related work as required to complete the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
