Job summary

The City of San Diego is seeking a Motor Sweeper Operator to maintain and operate street sweepers on assigned routes. You will lubricate, inspect, and perform routine maintenance; wash and clean sweepers; and prepare reports for supervisor review.

Some duties may require weekend shifts and extended night work with additional pay as noted. Applicants must hold a valid California Class A or B Driver License and a DMV Medical Certificate within two years, plus a Tank Endorsement.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time experience operating vehicles which require a valid California Class A or B Driver License.
• Driver license and DMV Medical Certificate as required under LICENSE.
• Drug and alcohol testing is required prior to hire.

• Operate a motorized street sweeper on an assigned route.
• Lubricate and perform routine maintenance on sweepers.
• Wash and clean sweepers; prepare reports; and perform other duties as assigned.
