Job summary

The City of Temple seeks an Equipment Operator Apprentice to support Streets Services in street and alley reconstruction. Under supervision, you will operate trucks and equipment to assist multiple crews including Sign Maintenance and Right of Way tasks.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent; Class A CDL permit or ability to obtain within six months; and Flagger Training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operates trucks and equipment for street reconstruction and supports multiple crews including Sign Maintenance and Right of Way.
• Performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Assists in responding to service calls such as drainage and traffic hazards.
• Assists with installation and maintenance of pavement markings per TXMUTCD.
• Mows and cleans alleyways with weed trimmers and mowers.
• Rotates on-call nights and weekends for emergencies.
