Job summary

City of St. Joseph seeks a Project Facilitator in Public Works & Transportation to track inquiries, manage street-cut permits, sidewalks, drives, trees and other right-of-way activities within the city. No supervisory duties; opportunities to coordinate with utilities and responders.

The role requires a high school diploma and 1–3 years in related work, a CDL with Tanker endorsement, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and maps/blueprints; drug and background check required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of related field experience preferred.
• Drug screening and background check required.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, and blueprints; knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Must possess valid Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Tracks and responds to inquiries, complaints and work in regard to street cuts, permits, sidewalks, driveways, trees, right of ways and related activities.
• Inspects street cuts, sidewalk and driveway construction.
• Investigates complaints regarding sidewalks, driveways, hazards and code violations.
• Administers the Sidewalk Program.
• Schedules and chairs monthly Utility Coordination meetings.
• Responds to water or gas main breaks and other emergencies as directed by supervisor.
• Acts as on-street supervisor and surveys streets during storms.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and manages city assets in yards.
