Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an analytical professional to support the development of enterprise technology strategies, roadmaps, and capability assessments aligned to long-range objectives in defense sectors.

You will analyze data, research emerging technologies, and prepare clear presentations for senior leadership, collaborating with Engineering, Digital Technology, and Strategy teams to drive strategic outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree with related experience.
  • Experience in data analysis, problem solving, and presenting findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with data visualization is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of technology strategies, roadmaps, and capability assessments.
  • Research emerging technologies, industry disruptors, and partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to hypothesis development and structured analysis for tech initiatives.
  • Conduct market sizing, forecasting, and adoption assessments across defense sectors.
  • Analyze defense technology investment trends and RDT&E priorities.
  • Evaluate competitive positioning and assess new tech entrants.
  • Manage research tools, subscriptions, and external engagements.
  • Support dashboards, data repositories, and trend reporting.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Digital Technology, Business Development and Strategy teams to validate insights.
  • Assist in workshops on prioritization and enterprise architecture planning.
  • Develop clear, compelling presentations for senior leadership.
  • Support creation of dashboards and analytic tools communicating trends.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Support development of enterprise technology strategies, roadmaps, and future‑state capability assessments aligned to long‑range objectives.
  • Research emerging technologies, industry disruptors, and partnership opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic problem framing, hypothesis development, and structured analysis for technology initiatives.
  • Conduct market sizing, forecasting, and adoption assessments across defense and dual‑use sectors.
  • Analyze U.S. and international defense technology investment trends, including RDT&E priorities.
  • Evaluate competitive positioning and assess emerging tech players, startups, and adjacent industry entrants.
  • Manage research tools, subscriptions, and external vendor/consultant engagements.
  • Support team operations, content repositories, dashboards, and recurring technology trend reporting.
  • Partner with Engineering, Digital Technology, Business Development, and Corporate Strategy to gather data and validate insights.
  • Assist in workshops on technology prioritization, capability development, and enterprise architecture planning.
  • Develop clear, compelling presentations for senior leadership.
  • Support creation of digital dashboards, visual frameworks, and analytic tools that communicate technology trends and progress.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2+ years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 1+ year experience.
  • Experience in a relevant field such as defense contracting, strategy, finance, supply chain, or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability in data analysis, problem‑solving, and presenting findings in a clear and structured manner.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage both strategic and administrative responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
