Job summary

CRH is seeking a Strategy Manager to join its Atlanta-based team. You will work with senior leaders to identify growth opportunities, perform market analyses, and guide strategic initiatives across CRH's diversified portfolio.

This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Strategy and requires on-site presence in Atlanta with some travel. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4+ years in strategy consulting or corporate strategy, strong communication and presentation skills, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, finance, engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or similar.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of and/or experience in the Construction and Building Materials sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze growth opportunities across CRH; provide actionable insights to Leadership Teams.
  • Conduct deep dives on strategic topics to support leadership decisions on priorities.
  • Support the annual strategic planning process and regional reviews.
  • Assess emerging business models and markets adjacent to CRH's core markets with memos, proposals, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with CRH Group Strategy, Innovation and Ventures on projects, pilots, partnerships, and investments.
  • Monitor industry trends and contextualize insights with CRH initiatives.

Position Overview

CRH is building a world class Strategy function to support its strong portfolio of operating businesses, advancing the company's understanding of what it takes to succeed as a leading organization. The Strategy Team supports analysis for CRH leadership decision making, allowing them to execute on their vision for CRH. The team provides expertise through market analysis and synthesis of trends shaping the global building materials & construction sectors.

As a Strategy Manager, you will play a role in advancing growth and value creation at CRH. Through market analysis, strategic projects, and partnering with CRH operating businesses, you will help guide CRH's continued exploration in support of its vision as an industry leader.

This role will be based in Atlanta, GA and report to the Senior Vice President of Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with business leaders to identify and analyze growth opportunities across CRH, providing actionable insights and optionality to CRH Leadership Teams
  • Conduct deep dives on a variety of strategic topics to support leadership in making decisions on strategic priorities
  • Support the annual-wide strategic planning process, including regional business strategy reviews
  • Assess emerging business models and markets adjacent to CRH's core markets, including preparation of comprehensive memos, proposals and presentations for senior leadership
  • Work with CRH Group Strategy, Innovation and Ventures ("SIV") on strategy projects as well as the evaluation and implementation of specific projects, pilots, partnerships, and investments as needed to support CRH's growth ambitions
  • Follow business trends across the industry, synthesizing real time insights and contextualizing with current CRH efforts
Qualifications
Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or similar
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of and/or experience in the Construction and Building Materials sectors is a plus

  • Highly developed interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal and/or written instructions
  • A self-starter with high degree of initiative, action-oriented

Work Requirements
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment, assisting the team with other duties as required
  • Ability to work on a global team spanning many time-zones
  • On site work environment at least 4 days per week in office when not traveling (some flexibility to work from home)
  • Domestic and international travel approx. 25% may be necessary according to the demands of the role
  • The position may require work outside of normal business hours
Physical Requirements
  • Able to communicate with others by telephone, Microsoft Teams, e-mail, and in-person
  • Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations
  • May require sitting for extended periods of time
