Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Boston, MA seeks an experienced senior strategist/operational leader to drive multi-year roadmaps, governance, and cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare, organizational leadership, or related field.
  • 10+ years relevant experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare/consulting or other regulated industry with progressive strategy/ops/transformation or portfolio leadership.
  • 2+ years in consulting with structured problem-solving and executive-ready recommendations.
  • Project/change management and/or Lean/continuous improvement training or certification.
  • Director-level leadership in matrixed environments; influence without authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking, executive communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and change leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead refinement, socialization, and activation of business-unit strategy, priorities, critical success factors, and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Translate strategy into integrated operating plans, decision rights/accountabilities, performance measures, and communications.
  • Provide senior thought partnership by synthesizing insights, framing trade-offs, and recommending actions.
  • Drive operational excellence by building capabilities, streamlining processes, automating approaches, and leveraging tools/systems.
  • Establish scalable frameworks, standard work, governance, and portfolio dashboards to improve consistency, transparency, speed, and decision quality.
  • Oversee initiative health (resources, milestones, risks, interdependencies) and escalate issues with options.
  • Partner with Finance/business leaders on resource allocation, budget visibility, and stewardship.
  • Establish and continuously improve governance/operating rhythms (planning, forums, pre-reads, decision documentation, follow-through).
  • Lead cross-functional culture and employee-engagement initiatives; model Takeda cultural pillars.
  • Oversee internal leadership communications and home office huddles/town halls operations.

  • MBA/MS/MPH or equivalent.
  • Commercial operations, product lifecycle planning, or enterprise transformation experience.
Travel:
  • Up to 10%.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • U.S. Base Salary Range (Boston, MA): $177,000.00–$278,080.00
