Job summary

The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity seeks an Assistant to the Director of Workforce Development within LEO’s Office of Employment and Training. The role provides high-level support, responds to complex inquiries, conducts research, and aids in policy, planning, and budget activities to advance workforce initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four years’ professional experience, including progressive responsibilities at the P11/12

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level or one year at the advanced (12) level.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Director in all areas of responsibility.
• Respond to complex inquiries.
• Carry out research and special projects as assigned by the Director.
• Assist in program planning, policy, and procedures development.
• Participate in budget development.
• Oversee the grants acquisition process.
• Represent the Director at various meetings.
