Job summary

Helmerich & Payne in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Manager of Capital Equipment - Well Control to lead asset strategy, lifecycle planning, and standardization across the rig fleet in the Western Hemisphere. This role partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, HSE, and field leadership to optimize performance and control lifecycle costs.

The position requires deep knowledge of land drilling equipment, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets and capex while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of drilling operations, equipment management, maintenance, reliability or asset management experience.
• Experience supporting land drilling rigs and drilling equipment systems.
• Experience managing capital projects, equipment programs, and asset lifecycle activities.
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and continuous improvement experience.
• Combination of education and relevant industry experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead asset management strategies for specialized drilling equipment across the H&P rig fleet.
• Develop lifecycle management plans, replacement strategies, maintenance requirements, and equipment standards.
• Manage capital equipment and facilitate transfers of assets as needed.
• Monitor asset reliability, utilization, maintenance costs, and performance metrics.
• Develop standardization initiatives to improve fleet performance and efficiency.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE to resolve equipment issues.
• Provide technical recommendations on equipment selection, deployment, upgrades, and replacement.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for significant failures.
• Lead or support capital projects involving specialized drilling equipment and infrastructure.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for asset categories.
