Job summary

DLA Careers seeks a highly responsible supervisor for the Corpus Christi warehouse facility. You will oversee subordinate workers, plan staffing, equipment, and materials to meet workload projections on a weekly or monthly basis.

You will set deadlines and priorities, assign work, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations. The role requires strong leadership, adherence to safety rules, and readiness to respond to emergencies as a mission essential employee.

Qualifications

• Applicants are evaluated under the Office of Personnel Management standards for Trades and Labor Occupations.
• Screen-out elements (SOE) are used to determine eligibility and may eliminate candidates.
• Experience can be paid or unpaid (including volunteer work) and counted for qualification credit.
• Applicants must demonstrate the quality level of knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee subordinate workers and supervise performance.
• Plan the use of staff, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections weekly or monthly.
• Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences according to higher-level schedules and policies.
• Determine staffing levels and assign work to individual workers.
• Monitor progress and inspect completed work to ensure order requirements are met.
• Set performance standards and conduct formal appraisals of subordinates.
• Counsel employees and address informal complaints and grievances with workers and union reps.
• Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Maintain work reports and records.
