Job summary

UN Secretariat in New York seeks a senior coordinator to manage the UNSDG Secretariat and ensure the effective functioning of the UN Sustainable Development Group. You will support the UNSDG Chair and Principals, prepare key meetings, and oversee guidance, tools, and interagency processes.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least ten years in project management and interagency coordination, with strong leadership and data-analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field (sustainable development, economics, public policy)
• First-level degree with significant qualifying experience may be accepted as an alternative
• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in project management and interagency coordination
• Experience in UN policy-making, programming, strategy development and development system reforms is desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead the UNSDG Secretariat's effective functioning and work planning.
• Support meeting preparation, organize sessions, and coordinate with UNSDG Principals and member entities.
• Provide strategic direction, oversee outputs, guidance, and tools for UNSDG entities.
• Supervise staff and manage the Secretariat while coordinating with DCO teams on decisions and outreach
