Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a Procurement Director to lead and manage all procurement functions for the University. This role holds delegated procurement authority from the Wisconsin DOA and UW System Administration and reports to the Controller.

You will develop procedures for competitive solicitations, negotiations, and procurements while guiding the procurement team. Responsibilities include supervising staff, maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring policy compliance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, including accounting, finance, procurement, contracting, or related area.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in written and oral forms.
• Ability to effectively use the Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all procurement activities to ensure alignment with DOA, UWSA, and UW policies.
• Maintain procurement authority delegation and supervise procurement staff.
• Develop and maintain procedures for competitive solicitations, negotiations, and purchasing activities.
• Evaluate procurement processes for efficiency and implement improvements.
• Prepare cost-benefit analyses and manage vendor relationships.
• Assist in budgeting, reporting, and ensuring contract compliance.
