Job summary

Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma seeks a Communications Manager to develop and execute strategic communication plans that promote the Nation’s visibility and programs. The role manages media relations, crisis communication, public relations initiatives, and digital presence across platforms.

You will oversee internal communications, produce speeches and articles, and coordinate community events in line with Pawnee values and traditions, collaborating with leadership and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
• Experience in media relations and crisis communication is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to support Pawnee Nation’s strategic goals.
• Manage media relations, press materials, and inquiries; serve as primary media contact.
• Coordinate public relations activities, community events, and crisis communications when needed.
• Oversee internal communications, newsletters, and information sharing with Pawnee citizens and employees.
• Lead digital communications: website, social media, content calendars, and analytics.
• Create speeches, articles, and promotional content aligned with Pawnee values.
• Support branding, partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.
