Job summary

Venable LLP in Washington, DC seeks a midlevel associate with five to seven years of substantive U.S. trademark experience in a law firm setting to join our IP Group in DC.

The ideal candidate will manage large global trademark portfolios, draft and respond to Office Actions, and advise on clearance searches and enforcement strategies. Experience with Madrid Protocol filings and TTAB proceedings is valued. JD required and DC-bar waiver capability preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state with DC bar waiver.
• 5–7 years of substantive U.S. trademark experience in a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage U.S. trademark prosecution filings and responses.
• Draft and file Office Actions, Statements of Use, and extensions.
• Counsel on clearance searches and portfolio management.
• Handle TTAB proceedings, including oppositions and cancellations.
