Job summary

Employnet Inc. is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax engagements, provide technical expertise, and support the growth of the tax practice. This role suits a CPA with public accounting experience who excels at managing client relationships and mentoring staff.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple engagements, ensure compliance and accuracy, and deliver high-quality tax solutions for federal, state, and local returns while contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
• Minimum six years of public accounting experience.
• At least two years of experience leading or supervising tax professionals.
• Strong knowledge of individual, partnership, corporate, and trust taxation.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with tax software; familiarity with CCH Axcess Tax preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and oversee federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and understanding of client business and industry.
• Research complex tax matters and prepare memorandums and documentation for tax authorities.
• Provide guidance and coaching to tax professionals and mentor staff.
• Supervise staff performance, delegate work, and support employee development.
• Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Monitor engagement profitability while maintaining high quality and client satisfaction.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities to expand client relationships.
• Stay current on changes in federal and state tax regulations and communicate updates to the team.
