The Garcia Companies seeks a Senior Compliance Accountant to perform tax compliance, tax accounting, and related audit support for all Garcia entities. You will prepare federal and state income tax returns, maintain tax workpapers, and assist with tax filings, ensuring alignment with federal/state/local regulations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of tax experience, strong analytical abilities, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or higher (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of tax experience including preparation of individual and business returns.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state income tax regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Aufgaben

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns and supporting workpapers for Garcia businesses, including partnerships and S-corps, trusts and related individuals.
• File non-income tax returns including sales tax, personal property tax, business license renewals, and unclaimed property.
• Prepare and maintain monthly tax accounting adjustments and supporting schedules for all Garcia companies.
• Review and reconcile financial data relevant to tax calculations by company, account, and cost center.
• Prepare and post tax-related journal entries as necessary.
• Maintain supporting tax workpapers and reconciliations in a review-ready format.
• Assist with tax and compliance audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and responses to information requests.
• Maintain fixed asset ledgers and compute MACRS tax depreciation for all Garcia companies.
• Calculate taxable vehicle-use related to company vehicles and monitor mileage forms.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on all Garcia companies.
• Evaluate multi-state and local filing requirements as businesses expand.
