Scotiabank - Global Banking and Markets in Dallas is seeking a Strategic Support Manager to partner with the VP Country Head of HR. You will design and implement talent plans, align with CoEs, and ensure regulatory and policy compliance while driving regional HR initiatives.

You will produce data-driven insights, develop PowerPoint content for committees, and lead reporting on headcount and growth projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience or relevant business experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or human resources.
  • Strong data-driven communications using PowerPoint and analytics tools.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerBI to translate HR data into insights.
  • SHRM CP/SP or in progress is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

Purpose

Working with the VP Country Head of HR, the Strategic Support Manager, is responsible for providing necessary inputs and insights to help with the design and implementation of talent plans and initiatives for the region. The Strategic Support Manager partners closely with the Communities of Expertise (CoEs) in service of implementing core bank programs, ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, local country laws and procedures. This role has high level accountability for the HRBP team’s success, working independently to meet goals and aligning to objectives contributing to overall performance.

What You’ll Do
  • Provides strategic support to the VP, Country Head of HR for talent programs and initiatives.
  • Partners with Communities of Expertise (CoEs), Global HR Solutions, HRBP Community and Talent Strategy as the single point of contact in service of implementing core bank programs, cyclical activities, and new initiatives for the region.
  • Leverages collaboration skills and professional network to champion a client-focused culture and deepen client relationships.
  • Represents regional HRBPs in strategic business plan development and identifies and recommends the right HR strategy and solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Provides data-driven talent insights and solutions to leaders on priorities and needs, influencing program and policy design.
  • Has oversight of local reporting and analytics requirements for the U.S HR Function including headcount (monthly), Material Risk Impact, Attrition / turnover.
  • Owns and produces content in PowerPoint format for all U.S Committees, including; OpCo, ExCo, SHUSA Board.
  • Owns all reporting on U.S Region projects and growth initiatives
  • Identifies emerging themes, patterns, and trends through data analytics, and provides insights and recommendations to support decision making aligned to the Bank’s talent strategy.
  • Advocates and champions, the transformation of the GHR operating model with the aim of creating a globally integrated function.
  • Agile to assist in HRBP accountabilities as needed depending on business/corporate functions needs and volumes. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture are considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience or relevant business experience.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
  • Highly skilled in creating impactful and strategic communications leveraging data and insights to create a compelling narrative leveraging relevant tools (e.g. Co-pilot, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong experience in using Excel and other data analytics platforms (PowerBI) to transform HR data into actionable people insights”
  • SHRM CP, SHRM SP or other HR designation, or in progress is an asset.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners. Actively listens and seeks to understand needs with genuine curiosity.
