Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Planning professional to strengthen inventory management and optimize material flow.

You will analyze data, perform root-cause investigations, and partner across Operations, Warehouse, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to close process gaps. Role emphasizes on-site collaboration in a manufacturing environment, with responsibilities spanning data analysis, standard work development, and corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain analytics.
• Strong data interpretation skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable actions.
• Comfort working in both office and plant-floor environments with cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and systemic issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for inventory variances across production, receiving, storage, picking, and shipping.
• Conduct physical investigations on the plant floor to trace parts and validate transactions.
• Reconcile system inventory with physical counts and support cycle counts.
• Partner with Operations, Warehouse, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to close gaps.
• Document findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve controls.
• Support the development and improvement of standard work, procedures, and controls for inventory management.
• Monitor effectiveness of actions and track sustained improvements in inventory accuracy.
• Prepare reports and communicate findings to leadership with data-driven insights.
