Job summary

OU Health is seeking a University of Oklahoma Medical Center Supply Chain Category Manager to lead enterprise-wide sourcing and category strategies. This role focuses on optimizing value, reducing total cost of ownership, and ensuring supply continuity across assigned categories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 5 years of experience in supply chain management or supply chain project management.
• Knowledge of healthcare supply chain, sourcing, contracting, and value analysis functions.
• Ability to influence individuals and cross-functional groups without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for assigned categories, including opportunity assessment, RFP/RFI development, supplier selection, negotiations, award, and implementation.
• Develop and execute category strategies that balance cost, quality, supply continuity, and innovation.
• Maintain a proactive contract and bid calendar to support sourcing priorities and annual savings targets.
• Partner with clinical leaders, finance, operations, legal, ETS, and value analysis teams to define category goals.
• Lead or support value analysis activities by preparing financial insights and documenting decisions.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, including negotiations, renewals, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
• Build strategic supplier relationships focused on performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee supplier scorecards and performance feedback loops to drive outcomes.
• Utilize analytics, spend data, and market intelligence to inform sourcing strategies.
• Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to keep the portfolio competitive.
• Deliver measurable cost savings while supporting patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Contract Specialists without direct people management responsibilities.
• Communicate with leadership and suppliers regarding strategy and progress.
• Lead other sourcing initiatives as directed by Leadership.
