Job summary

AMAX in the United States (Iowa) is seeking a procurement specialist to manage lead times, purchases, and rescheduling of shipments based on customer forecasts and project needs. You will source, negotiate, and buy goods following established policies to keep supply aligned with demand.

The role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies, reviewing supplier contracts, and participating in cost-reduction programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and formulas.
2+ years of manufacturing experience (preferred).
Six Sigma and/or Lean experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Manage lead time, purchases, pulls in and rescheduling of shipments based on customer forecast and project requirements.
Source, negotiate, and purchase goods following established policies and procedures.
Provide input into development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Participate, review, negotiate and monitor supplier contracts.
Conduct formal cost reduction programs and follow through as appropriate.
Pursue projects and solve problems of significant complexity across all phases.
Undertake studies related to new products or processes and evaluate economic aspects.
Develop estimated costs to manufacture special items and processing sheets for orders.
Update specials program and other duties as required.
