Salary: The compensation range begins at $125,000, with the final offer depending on the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.

The company's patented plasma technology advances battery materials production by enabling resource extraction from spent lithium-ion batteries, manufacturing scrap, and raw materials. PNE is committed to providing innovative, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly energy solutions for the lithium-ion battery recycling sector, aligning with ESG values and reducing global greenhouse emissions.

Position: We are seeking a passionate and motivated Strategic Supply and Sourcing Manager to join our team. The role involves collaborating with management to source and secure spent lithium-ion batteries and scraps for recycling, building supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and monitoring market trends. The position also includes developing new accounts, preparing bids, and aligning procurement strategies with company goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and establish new partnerships, customer relationships, agreements, and revenue streams.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  3. Develop new channels and opportunities, including securing feedstock supply and off-taker agreements.
  4. Lead business discussions, prepare proposals, and negotiate agreements and terms (e.g., MOUs, SOWs/MTAs, JVs, RFIs/RFPs).
  5. Develop negotiation strategies to maximize value and minimize risks.
  6. Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business and technical goals.
  8. Stay informed on market trends, industry developments, and customer preferences.
  9. Monitor industry practices, demand/supply shifts, and technological advancements.
  10. Generate monthly sales forecasts and performance reports.
  11. Represent the company at industry events and trade shows.

Candidate Profile:

Experience: 5+ years in business development, with at least 1 year focused on the lithium-ion battery value chain, especially with Auto OEM battery divisions, cell manufacturers, cathode/pCAM producers, or recyclers.

  • Business Acumen: Proven success in capturing new business and understanding market dynamics.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective contract negotiation and communication skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for presentations and client interactions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial terms, contracts, and IP concepts.
  • Sales Mindset: Ability to drive sales of innovative technologies.
  • Adaptability: Resilience in startup or scaleup environments.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Purpose-Driven: Motivated by environmental sustainability.
  • Travel: Willing to travel 50%-80% for business development activities.
  • Location: Remote position; preference for candidates along the 'battery belt' or within Eastern/Central time zones.
