Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Supplier Risk Manager within Global Supplier Management (GSM), part of the Global Procurement Organization (GPO). You will design and operationalize supplier risk programs across the global supply chain, influencing policy, governance, analytics, and cross-functional execution.

The role requires 5+ years in supplier risk management and experience building scalable, governance-driven programs, with fluency in English and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field, or 3+ years of Amazon experience.
• Experience creating and implementing large-scale programs.
• Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects.
• Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.
• Speak, write, and read fluently in English.
• 5+ years of experience in supplier risk management, supply chain risk, procurement, compliance, or related discipline.
• Experience with quantitative risk assessment methodologies and risk scoring frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable supplier risk programs spanning multiple risk domains (financial, operational, reputational, regulatory, geopolitical, sustainability, sole/source).
• Develop risk scoring methodologies and tiered monitoring aligned to supplier criticality and spend.
• Build early warning systems to proactively identify emerging supplier risks.
• Consolidate siloed risk activities into a unified, governed program portfolio with escalation and remediation frameworks.
• Define program success metrics, reporting cadences, and escalation protocols.
• Identify and secure resource support structures to operate programs at scale.
• Author and maintain supplier risk management policies and standards across regions.
• Establish governance mechanisms to ensure policy compliance and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, GPO, and Finance for regulatory alignment.
• Own policy lifecycle management including periodic reviews.
• Collaborate with Category Managers and regional teams to embed risk into sourcing decisions; present risk posture to senior leadership; influence cross-functional partners; champion risk-aware culture.
• Lead design of data models and risk scoring integrating financial health, screening, ESG, geopolitical signals, safety records, quality metrics, capacity and delivery.
