Job summary

Briggs & Stratton, LLC. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to partner with suppliers and the purchasing group to ensure the highest delivered quality. You will implement quality systems, lead a supplier quality team, and drive process improvements across the supply base. Travel up to 25% is required.

The role entails reviewing PPAPs, coordinating supplier audits, and collaborating with Engineering and Supply Chain to improve quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in machining and assembly environments.
• Strong knowledge of SAP (ERP) software.
• Experience with quality tools such as 8D, SPC, PFMEA.
• Ability to train others in problem-solving and lead teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Knowledge of PPAP and vendor quality measures.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality team and address day-to-day production issues.
• Implement quality systems for production and supply base.
• Advise and support technicians on process controls and issues.
• Collect and evaluate supplier quality data for improvements.
• Develop corrective action plans with suppliers for failures.
• Monitor supplier performance with metrics and drive improvements.
• Review PPAPs and coordinate supplier process changes.
• Coordinate supplier audits and inspections as needed.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.
