Job summary

The University of Connecticut Procurement team seeks a mission‑driven Supplier Engagement Program Manager to expand Connecticut supplier opportunities and strengthen connections with Connecticut‑based businesses. This role leads the USEP and guides vendor engagement strategies across the Storrs campus, UCH in Farmington, and regional campuses.

The position requires hybrid work with on‑site presence two days per week and regular in‑state travel for training, outreach and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years procurement experience or an Associate’s with 7+ years in a comparable environment
• Experience in supplier relationship management, including oversight of performance and compliance
• Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, project management and planning skills

Responsibilities

• Direct the effectiveness of all supplier engagement programs and administer USEP operations
• Advise university administrators and business leaders on policies, procedures and reporting responsibilities for USEP
• Develop and execute supplier diversity strategies to meet statutory goals with cross‑campus teams
• Plan workshops, trainings and represent the University at supplier engagement events
• Supervise personnel and prepare analyses and reports for decision making
