Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. (ABS) in Springboro, OH is hiring a Supplier Development Engineer who leads supplier selection, evaluation, and development to ensure high quality components and compliance with TS 16949, ISO 9001.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, drive APQP/PPAP, conduct supplier audits, and push continuous improvement to reduce cost and improve delivery. A hands-on, cross-functional leader is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years managing a certified quality management system (e.g., TS 16949, ISO).
• 4+ years driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Interface with component teams to prioritize supplier development needs.
• Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
• Assess supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, delivery requirements.
• Lead APQP, PPAP, and VA/VE activities with suppliers.
• Conduct supplier audits and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering and procurement to drive cost-effective improvements.
• Maintain supplier performance scorecards and trend analyses.
• Provide guidance to Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with TS 16949, ISO, and other standards.
• Support new product launches with supplier readiness.
