Dream Nights Slumber Parties is seeking a Space Planner Specifier / Commercial Interior Designer to join our Chicago team. This role operates in a fast-paced, revenue-driven decor and furniture environment, translating client goals into buildable, budget-aligned workplace solutions.

Ideal candidates are technically strong, highly organized, proactive communicators who own projects from concept to completion and balance creativity with precision and accountability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years of commercial interiors experience preferred.
• Experience within a furniture dealership or similar environment strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Familiarity with CET Designer, Project Spec, CAP 2020 Worksheet strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Client & Programming Leadership: Partner with Workplace Solutions Managers (Sales) to lead programming conversations, gather project requirements and translate client goals into functional, future-ready workplace strategies.
• Space Planning & Design Execution: Develop responsive space plans that align with program.
• Specification & Documentation: Generate accurate specifications and pricing and develop installation documentation to ensure alignment between design intent, Project Managers and vendors to support smooth installation.
• Strategic Contribution: Contribute design insight to deal strategy and competitive positioning and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality.
