Job summary

Henricksen, located in Chicago/Oak Brook, IL, seeks a Senior Designer to collaborate with Account Executives, Clients, and Customer Support Teams. You will design and specify creative, functional solutions that meet project requirements, focusing on programming, space planning, finish palettes, drawings, and field verifications.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in contract design, strong AutoCAD/Configura CET skills, and proven client-facing experience.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field.
8+ years’ experience in contract design and/or furniture dealership.
Specification and layout of systems, ancillary furniture, demountable partitions, contract furniture processes from programming to delivery/installation.
Workplace environment issues (ergonomics, technology integration, teaming, planning, facility need).
Building codes, ADA regulations, Electrical Code, etc.
General knowledge in building practices (partition types, flooring, installation).
High proficiency in AutoCAD, CAP Studio or Project Matrix, Configura CET, and graphic layout skills.
Proven track record in customer-facing environment (internal and external).
Proven ability to execute complex, high-volume projects simultaneously in an organized, creative, and quality-driven way.
Strong learning and coaching capabilities and interest.
Conscientious and flexible, with strong work ethic and problem-solving and team orientation.
Proficient and effective communicator (written and verbal).
Proficient in Microsoft Office365 applications.

Responsibilities

Project Definition and Planning: facilitate meetings, establish scope, deliverables, timeline, roles, and team operations; present design solutions.
Design Process Execution: handle larger, complex projects with quality outcomes; develop schematic designs and cost/resource estimates.
Design Consultation and Collaboration: create drawings/renderings; address programming needs and coordinate with consultants and installers.
Customer Service: maintain professional demeanor; communicate transparently to ensure exceptional client experience; adapt to project needs.
