Job summary

STR's Space Missions and Sensing (SMS) Sector in the Boston area is seeking a Program Manager to oversee complex DoD programs spanning system capabilities, test needs, and demonstrations. You will work with senior researchers and PIs to shape execution plans and deliver results.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering, 8+ years in government contracting or R&D, and the ability to obtain/retain SCI/SAP clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in Government contracting or R&D.
Experience managing projects for the Department of Defense with proven delivery on complex programs.
Strong ability to plan, execute, and communicate at the program level.

Responsibilities

Manage program schedule and budget. Navigate complex requirements to deliver an execution plan.
Plan, execute, and deliver program capability with the principal investigator.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
Coordinate across functional capabilities to maximize outcomes.
Communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations and drive improvements.
Track cost, schedule, and technical program metrics to stay within plan.
Lead capture and proposal writing/delivery while following gated processes.
Create and manage subcontractor statements of work and monitor execution.
Foster collaboration by providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
Understand customer needs and identify future opportunities; connect programs to STR strategy.
