Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Cost Engineer/Senior Cost Engineer to support the National Security Space Enterprise. The role focuses on cost analyses, estimating methodologies, and integrating cost with schedule and risk to inform funding decisions.

Work Model: full-time on-site at El Segundo, CA (also Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Albuquerque, NM) with some remote flexibility. Requires travel and strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field.
• At least 8 years in space systems acquisition or cost/schedule engineering.
• Experience leading life cycle cost estimates and methodologies.
• Strong collaboration, initiative, and time-management in high-visibility environments.
• Will travel occasionally to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Advise on cost, schedule, and risk to enable mission success.
• Lead or contribute to cost analysis for space systems.
• Develop life cycle cost estimates and trade studies.
• Develop cost methodologies and estimation principles with customers.
• Build cost databases, tools, and methodologies.
• Evaluate contractor proposals to identify cost drivers and gaps.
• Apply cost methods across rapid acquisition and OTAs.
• Mentor team members and participate in peer reviews.
