Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas seeks a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive efficient procurement across the organization, overseeing RFx events and supplier selection to ensure best-value solutions. You will collaborate with requestors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to optimize IT services, infrastructure, and indirect spend.

The role requires at least 1 year in procurement or supply chain, knowledge of contract lifecycle management, and the ability to lead

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in procurement, vendor management, and/or supply chain management with strategic sourcing exposure.
• Experience with IT procurement and lean process improvements preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; additional 3 years of relevant experience acceptable.
• Certifications in supplier diversity or procurement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generate and implement efficient sourcing strategies through the RFx process.
• Prepare and manage competitive bids (RFQ, RFP, etc.), including document prep, price analysis, and contract terms negotiations.
• Develop and negotiate contracts with new suppliers and renegotiate existing contracts to maximize value.
• Maintain strategic sourcing relationships and foster supplier partnerships.
