Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, in a leadership role, seeks a Senior Sourcing Specialist to mentor the sourcing team and guide procurement objectives. You will report to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement and drive value through expert contracting and supplier management.

The role covers supplier selection, contract negotiation, data-driven cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring compliance with policies across IT services and enterprise applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management.
• Experience with IT procurement and project management.
• Lean principles experience preferred.
• Ability to read and negotiate contracts.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach entry- and mid-level sourcing team members.
• Develop and negotiate supplier contracts to achieve lowest total system cost.
• Analyze industry trends to identify issues and mitigate risk.
• Lead RFx processes from bid development to contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize external spending.
