Job summary

Sigma Design, a Pacific Northwest product development, engineering and manufacturing firm, seeks a Sourcing Specialist to identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for outsourced parts and components. You will partner with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Operations, and Purchasing to ensure supplier capability meets technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

The role requires strong negotiation, vendor-relationship, and analytical skills, with 5+ years in sourcing.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of sourcing/supplier-management experience.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Knowledge of fabrication processes and supplier qualification.

Responsibilities

• Source suppliers for COTS, engineered components, fabricated parts, and outsourced services.
• Review drawings, BOMs, quantities, revisions, and dates before sourcing.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate responses, and award based on capability, lead time, cost, and compliance.
• Coordinate with Engineering and QP to resolve technical questions and nonconforming material.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other commercial conditions.
• Maintain supplier commitments in ERP and track performance metrics.
• Travel 20–30% to suppliers, customers, and facilities.
