Briarlake Partners is a strategic sourcing recruiting firm. We are working with a Houston-based client looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist. This role will focus on running strategic sourcing projects for IT categories, ideally enterprise software and/or SAAS applications. Our client supports a hybrid working environment requiring four days a week in their Houston office.

Desired Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university plus 3+ years related experience in Strategic Sourcing & Procurement; or equivalent combination of education/experience.

• Strong familiarity with procurement of IT Sourcing and best practices, enterprise software licensing (e.g., SaaS, perpetual), and IT consulting/services (e.g., managed services, implementation, and professional services).
• Experience sourcing IT Hardware, Software, and Services within a corporate, enterprise, or multi-site environment
• Strategic Sourcing experience in some of the categories mentioned above, including conducting RFX events, negotiating pricing, preparing bid analysis, and presenting sourcing recommendations to leadership
• Managing, reviewing, and negotiating all new and existing contracts (in conjunction with legal and enterprise security), suppliers, and delivering performance results
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required.
