Amazon is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager in Arlington, VA to lead global sourcing engagements across technology and corporate services. You will develop strategies, evaluate supplier capabilities, and manage RFx, negotiations, and supplier consolidation in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic sourcing within indirect categories and a track record of delivering savings, supported by benchmarking and should-cost analyses.

This role is uniquely positioned at the nexus of business units across Amazon, and offers singular vision into a broad spectrum of cross-company initiatives and strategies on a global scale. Using this unique insight, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will build and lead sourcing engagements for both existing and newly emerging categories of spend, as well as negotiate multi-faceted partnership agreements for Amazon’s high-growth businesses worldwide.

Strategic Sourcing Managers are expert practitioners in creating competitive environments, and have a strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. They routinely influence C-level vendor relationships by advising senior Amazon leaders across multiple stakeholder groups on the direction of sourcing projects in support of business unit and corporate goals.

Successful candidates must work well in a fast-paced and often ambiguous arena, and will be rewarded by working alongside highly collaborative and entrepreneurial colleagues in an environment that feels much more “startup” than “big company”.

Spend categories under management include Technology, such as Software, Hardware, Data Purchase, Telecommunication, Cybersecurity, among others.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation
• Experience managing spend categories that include three or more of the following: IT Software, IT Services, Corporate Services, Marketing, Contingent labor, Facilities and Real estate, Capital Expenditure and Tail Spend (Indirect Categories)
• Experience with practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.)
• 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and category management in indirect categories such as professional services, support or maintenance spend, supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
