Job summary

UniMind Software Solutions, Inc seeks an experienced Strategic Sourcing professional to support University Life Sciences, laboratory, and scientific sourcing categories. You will develop value-added supplier partnerships, negotiate agreements, and identify cost savings across scientific spend.

You will lead supplier negotiations, RFPs/RFQs, and contract negotiations, collaborating with researchers and procurement teams to craft effective sourcing strategies and drive supplier value.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supplier management.
• Experience in Life Sciences, laboratory, scientific, biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, higher education, or research organizations.
• Familiarity with genomics, sequencing, reagents, antibodies, kits, and laboratory supplies.
• Strong supplier negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing professional to support a large University Life Sciences, laboratory, and scientific sourcing categories.

The role will focus on developing value-added strategic supplier partnerships, negotiating agreements, improving commercial terms, and identifying cost savings and value opportunities across scientific and research spend.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFPs/RFQs, and contract negotiations.


• Develop strategic partnerships with major Life Sciences and scientific suppliers such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Fisher Scientific, Illumina, and similar vendors.


• Support categories including gene sequencing/genomics, chemical reagents, antibodies, assays/kits, laboratory supplies, consumables, scientific equipment, and related services.


• Analyze spend, pricing, supplier utilization, discounts, rebates, and opportunities for supplier consolidation.


• Partner with researchers, laboratory stakeholders, procurement, and other internal teams to develop sourcing strategies.


• Identify opportunities that deliver cost savings, improved service, innovation, and additional supplier value.

Preferred Experience

• Strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supplier management experience.


• Experience with Life Sciences, laboratory, scientific, biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, higher education, or research organizations is highly desirable.


• Familiarity with scientific/laboratory terminology and categories such as genomics, sequencing, reagents, antibodies, kits, and laboratory supplies is preferred.


• Strong supplier negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Candidates with strong strategic sourcing experience who have worked with scientific, laboratory, research, healthcare, biotech, or Life Sciences suppliers are encouraged to apply.
