Job summary

Connect Search, LLC is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager in Brookfield, WI to develop and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and optimize total cost of ownership across domestic and international supplier networks.

You will lead a team, mentor procurement personnel, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Engineering to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising procurement personnel.
• Demonstrated success negotiating supplier contracts and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms with suppliers to maximize value and reduce total cost of ownership.
• Identify and implement cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value engineering opportunities.
• Monitor market conditions and supplier trends that may impact on cost, availability, or lead times.
• Develop strong supplier partnerships and lead supplier performance reviews.
• Identify and mitigate supplier and supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.
• Oversee purchasing activities to ensure material availability meets production and customer requirements.
• Balance inventory investment, lead times, service levels, and procurement costs.
• Manage inbound and outbound freight compliance, costs, and vendor relationships associated with domestic and international operations.
• Track and communicate cost savings, cost avoidance, and material cost inflation.
• Serve as the primary resource for sourcing data, spend analysis, and procurement reporting.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Purchasing Department to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely procurement activities.
• Direct and coordinate purchasing activities, policies, and procedures to optimize department performance and service levels.
• Lead, coach, and develop purchasing personnel to achieve department and company objectives.
• Mentor purchasing department staff members by providing guidance, sharing best practices, and supporting their success in achieving departmental goals.
• Partner with the Sourcing Engineer in Mexico to identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers that meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Establish performance goals, monitor progress, and provide ongoing feedback and performance management.
• Collaborate cross-functional with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Engineering.
