About the role
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will support the Commercial organization by leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement activities. This role will partner closely with Commercial stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and deliver value through effective procurement practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across Commercial categories.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business and stakeholder requirements.
- Manage RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, including supplier identification, evaluation, bid analysis, and selection.
- Lead contract negotiations, including SOWs, MSAs, amendments, renewals, and other commercial agreements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Establish supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Partner effectively with Commercial stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into sourcing strategies.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, market research, competitive benchmarking, and cost analysis.
- Manage sourcing projects from requirements gathering through supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, processes, and applicable requirements.
- Utilize procurement and contract management platforms such as Coupa, Icertis, Ariba, or similar systems.
- Support category management and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong strategic sourcing and procurement expertise with the ability to manage complex sourcing initiatives independently.
- Excellent RFP/RFI/RFQ management and supplier evaluation skills.
- Strong contract negotiation experience, including SOWs, MSAs, amendments, and renewals.
- Demonstrated supplier relationship management and performance monitoring experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly with Commercial business partners.
- Experience using Coupa, Icertis, Ariba, or similar procurement/sourcing platforms.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or a related field.
- Pharma or Biotech industry experience is required.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Experience managing RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Experience with supplier management and contract negotiations.
- Experience working with procurement and contract management platforms such as Coupa, Icertis, Ariba, or similar.
Compensation (MA Pay Transparency)
- $70–$75/hr (W-2 MAX)
- Final rate within the posted range depends on qualifications and interview outcomes.
