Job summary

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager in Maryland to lead sourcing, supplier management, and procurement strategies for critical electronic components and subassemblies. You will partner with Production, R&D, Finance, Contracts, and Quality to ensure a resilient, cost-effective supply chain and timely delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in procurement, 5+ years of leadership, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Hybrid schedule at Stevensville, MD or Columbia, MD with travel to the other site as required.
10+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience.
5+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing or sourcing teams.
Experience negotiating with large OEM vendors and distributors.
Experience in long-term supplier management.
Experience purchasing computer equipment and system subcomponents.
Federal/commercial purchasing experience with EAR understanding.
Knowledge of electronic markets (NAND, processors, storage).
Data modeling/forecasting in tight supply chain environments.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making.
Commitment to continuous improvement in purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and oversights for major initiatives.
Primary contact for programs requiring purchasing support; manage escalations.
Develop, implement, and oversee procurement strategies aligned with goals and objectives.
Provide leadership, coaching, and development for purchasing staff; assist with hiring.
Analyze market trends, costs, pricing, and supplier capabilities to identify cost-saving initiatives.
Review demand from sales and production forecasts; negotiate delivery schedules with suppliers.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers; assess capabilities and quality.
Build and maintain supplier relationships; draft and negotiate contracts.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, or compliance issues.
Administer bidding with manufacturers/distributors; draft bid specs.
Source, select, and procure materials, products, and services timely and cost-effectively.
Collaborate with inventory management to optimize controls and reduce excess.
Establish and maintain procurement policies; ensure DoD compliance (TAA, FAR/DFARS, 889, EAR, SCRM).
