Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to own and execute the Professional Services category strategy. This high-velocity, hands-on operator sets priorities, owns end-to-end work, exercises sound judgment, and builds scalable category mechanisms in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with significant depth in Professional Services.
• Ability to own category strategy end-to-end, govern processes, and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience designing master services agreements, statements of work, and pricing structures.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the Professional Services category strategy and execution roadmap.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing workstreams with high-value negotiations and high-throughput engagements.
• Build partnerships with senior stakeholders, clarify tradeoffs, and redirect models to maximize value and reduce risk.
• Lead complex negotiations and design fit-for-purpose commercial structures including master services agreements and SOWs.
• Develop scalable category mechanisms, including intake, partner models, and supplier governance.
• Improve spend visibility, forecasting, and contract alignment with Finance and Accounting.
• Differentiate professional services from contingent labor and manage associated risks.
• Produce executive-ready reporting on pipeline health, savings, and supplier performance.
• Drive disciplined execution with clear documentation and data quality.
