McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a student intern to advance our procurement strategy across purchasing, operations and engineering.

This internship supports strategic sourcing activities, supplier research, and data-driven decision making to meet department goals. You will assist in delivering cost reductions, value improvements, and streamlined supplier collaboration while developing analytics tools to aid sourcing decisions.

Qualifications

  • Currently a student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Strategic Purchasing, Global Sourcing, and Operations.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing to understand commodity landscape and identify new sources.
  • Gather quotes, analyze quotes, and develop sourcing plans.
  • Negotiate long-term agreements and improve delivery, quality, cost, and risk in supply chain.
  • Sustain supplier partnerships through regular communication and data analytics support.

Summary

Work cross-functionally across the division’s purchasing, operations, and engineering groups to develop and implement the procurement strategy of assigned goods and services from our global supply base. This individual will have a positive influence on the organization’s sourcing requirements through lean thinking, problem solving, negotiating, communicating and stakeholder leadership to meet the department, divisional, and corporate goals.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

  • Assist in the areas of Strategic Purchasing, Global Sourcing, and Operations.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing activities to include: Understanding commodity landscape.
  • Research and identify new potential sources.
  • Gather and compile necessary information to request quotes.
  • Analyze quotes and recommend sourcing plan.
  • Negotiate long term agreements.
  • Lead initiatives to improve delivery, quality, cost, and risk amongst supply chain.
  • Sustain supplier partnerships by maintaining regular communication with supply base.
  • Develop data analytics tool(s) to streamline decision-making capabilities.
  • Provide support to Buyers and Purchasing Agents in the procurement of goods and services from suppliers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or related field for entire duration of internship.
Standout Qualifications
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay Range

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
